Lancaster City Town Hall

Coaches depart at 6pm from the George Fox Building

All workshop delegates are invited to attend a welcome reception within the historic Lancaster City Town Hall.  The reception will provide an informal setting ideal for networking and meeting colleagues. Delegates will then be given the opportunity to follow a tour of the City of Lancaster by a local, experienced and knowledgeable guide.  The tour will provide a brief insight to the intriguing history of the City of Lancaster and its surrounding areas.

Ashton Memorial and Williamson Park

We are pleased to announce that the conference reception will be held within the beautiful grounds of the Ashton Memorial and Williamson Park.  The memorial and park are steeped in the history of the city of Lancaster, further information and pictures can be found here.  All conference delegates are invited to view the 25th annual "Play in the Park" with exclusive interval food and drinks to be served in the Ashton Memorial itself.

Low Wood Hotel, English Lake District

Coaches depart at 5.45pm from the George Fox Building

The ECOOP 2011 conference banquet will take place in the world renowned English Lake District approx 1 hour from the conference venue.  Conference delegates will be able to experience the beauty of the English Lake District with a full banquet at the 4 start lakeside hotel The Low Wood Hotel including a live performance from the renowned Scottish fiddle player Lindsay Ritch and the chance for delegates to sample some locally brewed beer.

The banquet will also feature a talk from Alan Kay entitled "Brick Laying or Arch Inventing?".
