The Lake District

Lancaster is within half an hour drive of the Lake District, England's largest and one of its most beautiful national parks. There are many stunning sites to see and interesting hikes to take. The Lake District also offers rustic English towns and attractive visits for families with children.

Among the many hikes and walks of the Lake District, we can especially recommend the walking trail to the Ingleton Waterfalls and the trail to Devil's Bridge. Both hikes are a great example of the stunning scenery the Lake District has to offer.

In addition, there are many rustic towns that are worth a visit, such as the beautiful Grange over Sands. The town of Ambleside, home of the Beatrix Potter museum, is also well worth a visit. For families with young children the Wild Animal Park is an attractive option.
